Leadership

With the passing of the 2010 Act, BTVI functions under a Board of Directors. The nine-member Board, headed by a Chairman and Deputy Chairman, is mandated to map out a progressive future for the Institute. As stipulated in the Act, the Board provides for the welfare of students, superintends the property and policies of BTVI, determines the programmes and courses of study and fixes fees. Additionally, the Board is responsible for appointing instructors, administrative and other staff and for directing and regulating the administration of the Institute.

The President is responsible for overseeing the overall direction of the organisation. Along with the Executive Team, the President is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Institute and for implementing policies and procedures, monitoring performance indicators and seeking ways to improve overall organisational efficiencies.

Members of BTVI’s Senior Management have oversight of specific areas of the Institute.

With the assistance of strategic stakeholders and corporate partners vested in developing skilled tradespersons in The Bahamas, BTVI’s organisational structure is designed to transform the economy and drive the expansion of small and big businesses.
