Campuses & Sites

Nassau, New Providence

The main campus of the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) is located on Old Trail Road on the island of New Providence. Located on the southeastern part of the island, campus facilities provide hands-on training for a variety of trades: automotive, beauty, business, carpentry, construction, electrical, fashion, etc. A fully equipped carpentry and automotive workshop, state of the art computer labs, a modern-day spa and other facilities ensure that students acquire workplace readiness skills. Additionally, the campus boasts a day-care centre and serves as a Certification Center for Pearson VUE and as an EDUSA Advising Center.

Freeport, Grand Bahama

The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) has had a long-standing presence in the northern Bahamas. An integral part of the Grand Bahama community, BTVI’s Northern Bahamas Campus is located in Freeport, Grand Bahama on Settlers Way and Peachtree Street.  The island of Grand Bahama – a strategically located island in The Bahamas – serves as the gateway to the Americas and is fast becoming the technology hub of The Bahamas. BTVI continues to ensure a cadre of trained technical and vocational professionals to meet the needs of a variety of industries.

Nichols Town, North Andros

The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) began operations in North Andros in 2017. Thanks to its partner, Huntley Christie High School – formerly North Andros High – BTVI offers programmes and courses which help achieve its mandate to bolster the skills of Androsians. Current programme offerings are carpentry, electrical installation, office assistant and office administration. BTVI’s Campus Coordinator, Mrs. Marsha McDonald, oversees day-to-day operations including student services and course scheduling.

Additional Family Island Sites

The Board of Directors has mandated that BTVI identify key islands which will serve as anchors to ensure education and training opportunities for all Bahamians throughout the archipelago. Connecting with New Providence and Grand Bahama, these islands, which include Eleuthera, Abaco and Exuma, will form a network and provide a conduit through which BTVI programmes and courses can be established and sustained. With the assistance of strategic stakeholders and corporate partners vested in developing quality tradespersons and artisans, BTVI will seek to ensure The Bahamas is able to transform its economy and drive the expansion of small and big businesses.
