MASSAGE THERAPY

The Massage Therapy Diploma program prepares students to become successful practicing therapists. Students are taught the art and science of Massage Therapy while also being taught client inter-dynamics. Additionally, students learn modalities such as hot stone therapy, reflexology and sports massage. Students receive training for First Aid & CPR and are educated on HIV as it relates to massage. The objective is for students to develop the skills necessary to become confident and effective massage therapists, prepared to enter the exciting field in today’s spa environment. The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Diploma in Massage Therapy is awarded upon successful completion of the program.

 

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST

The Information Technology Support Specialist program provides the student with a solid understanding of the computer hardware and software and Microsoft application program skills. The program prepares the student to understand the basic networking concepts and its application in a business environment. The program prepares student for hardware, software and Network Plus certifications. This program is 18 months in duration provided that the student is full time. The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Diploma in Information Technology Support Specialist is awarded upon successful completion of the program.

 

AUTO MECHANICS

The Auto Mechanics Diploma program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students to enter the workforce as an Auto Technician Trainee, a Vehicle Service Writer, an Auto Supplies Salesperson or a Motor Engineer’s Assistant. This program requires approximately four (4) semesters for completion provided that the student is full-time. The skills, knowledge, and attitudes to be acquired by students are found in the course syllabi. The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Diploma in Auto Mechanics is awarded upon successful completion of the program.

FASHION DESIGN PRODUCTION II

The Fashion Design Production II program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare the student to enter the workforce as a self-employed garment maker, a machinist, or garment industry occupations involving altering, pressing, and pattern making. Admission into the diploma program requires that the student successfully completes the certificate program. The skills, knowledge, and attitudes to be acquired by students are found in the course syllabi. This program is one year long. The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Diploma in Fashion Design Production II is awarded upon successful completion of the program.

COSMETOLOGY

The Cosmetology Diploma program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students to enter the workforce as a beautician’s assistant. The skills, knowledge and attitudes to be acquired by students are found in the course syllabi. This program requires a minimum of five (5) semesters provided that the student is full-time. The Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute Diploma in Cosmetology is awarded upon successful completion of the program.
