To provide occupational programmes for The Bahamas and its workforce, BTVI comprises a network that includes one main campus, one branch campus, three extension campuses and two instructional service centres.

Main Campus (Island of New Providence)

Located on the island of New Providence, the Main Campus comprises administrative buildings, labs and workspaces. BTVI invests heavily in its technical infrastructure holding paramount the privacy, safety and security of data contained within its networks.  Network reliability (whether provided directly by BTVI or through contractual arrangements) is maintained in conjunction with Cable Bahamas and Starlink© (installation underway), the internet service providers. The technology for institutional operations and technical and vocational programmes includes personal computer systems, security cameras, electronic door access, all categories of Internet access, construction and mechanical trades’ tools and applications, credit card system, mobile phone devices, televisions and video equipment.

With a strategic focus on security (cyber security and physical security), BTVI implements policies and procedures assuring the health and safety of employees, students, and guests in any situation which might cause injury to persons while on campus. Physical security protocols include access control, vehicle barriers and physical barrier protection.

Branch Campus (Island of Grand Bahama)

BTVI’s Branch Campus is located on Settler’s Way and Peach Tree Street on the island of Grand Bahama. Campus grounds are approximately 31,482 square feet. The major structures include eight labs. (automotive, carpentry; welding; electrical; electronics; heating, ventilation, cosmetology-related and air conditioning; and plumbing), an administrative block, classrooms, an inventory block, a physical plant workplace, a pending certification lab, a computer server room and computer labs. Additionally, lounge areas are available for students, staff and instructors. Learning resources and media services facilitate the delivery of Special Interest Certificates, Diplomas and Associate of Applied Science programmes. BTVI’s technical infrastructure, security (physical and cyber) as well as network reliability standards also extend to its Branch Campus.

Extension Campus (Island of Abaco)

BTVI was granted access to the site of the former Dundas and Murphy Town Primary School, Abaco, by the Ministry of Education and Technical and Vocational Training. Building retrofitting created labs to facilitate programmes in the Beauty Trades, Construction Trades and Computer Technology. Administrative offices have also been created.

Extension Campus (Island of Eleuthera)

BTVI was granted access by the Ministry of Education and Technical and Vocational Training to the site of the former Green Castle Primary School, Green Castle, Eleuthera to expand technical and vocational training programmes to the Family Islands. Renovations involved extensive upgrades to the main building which houses three classrooms, an administrative office, two interior bathrooms, a storage closet, a kitchen, a conference room and a reception area. An exterior work area for the Construction and Mechanical Trades will be completed by Fall 2024.

Extension Campus (Island of Exuma)

BTVI is leasing space through the Exuma Foundation site, George Town, Exuma, to continue to expand technical and vocational training to the Family Islands. The building is designated to house the main administrative office, classrooms and computer lab as well as male and female bathrooms. Additionally, the construction of a mini lab for carpentry, plumbing and masonry as well as the installation of electrical supply for tools and power panels to tie into the main building is underway.

Instructional Service Centre (Moore’s Island Abaco)

BTVI, in partnership with the Department of Education, offers BTVI courses at Moore’s Island All Age School and Huntley Christie High School. BTVI programmes formally started on Moore’s Island October 2020. Classes initially used the school’s multi-purpose room, but as the programme grew, two additional classrooms were added. The multi-purpose room has an average size of 60′ x 20′ and the ability to comfortably hold 30 persons. Two classrooms are also made available, each having an estimated size of about 28′ x 22′. Classes are offered through a combination of hybrid (virtual) and face-to-face modalities.

Instructional Service Centre (North Andros, Andros)

BTVI began operations in North Andros in 2017. Thanks to its partner, Huntley Christie High School – formerly North Andros High – BTVI offers programmes and courses which help achieve its mandate to enhance the skills of Androsians. Current programme offerings are based on the demands of the island. BTVI has access to seven classrooms, two computer labs and labs for Carpentry, Auto Mechanics, Cosmetology, Clothing and Home Economics.
